With so many competition out there, the chances of your website getting up on search results really depends on how well your web pages and contents appeal to search engines.
In this article, I will point out how you can optimize your weebly website for search engines.
Weebly SEO – Optimize via Settings Tab
On your weebly editor, click settings, on the left click SEO. From the loaded tab, you will see the following: Site description and Meta Keywords.

A. Site Description:
Use this to give a general description of your website. You have maximum of 250 characters. On search results (e.g Google), you usually see a page title, a link and description. On search results, your site description will appear below the link. See below screenshot.
How to write a good site description
Looking at the screenshot above (search results), you can see how the site description is written. Roomy Themes products are primarily for weebly users, this makes weebly the main focus of our business. We want to write a description that will do two important things:
- Contain keywords that when searched for will help us appear on search results.
- Once we appear on search results, people will be moved to click on our link.
When writing a meta description, you should have these two things in mind. It’s one thing to appear on search results, its another to get people to click on your link.
To write a good description of your website, you basically have to summarize what your website is about, the services/products you offer, and why yours is good enough (if not best).
For example, in the screenshot above, it’s indicated that Roomy Themes is a company that offers weebly themes. It offers weebly themes, plugins and widgets as products. Its products are available as both free and premium, they are very easy to use, they are mobile friendly and professional which makes them better.

Include meta keywords in description
When writing a description, you should make sure that some of the meta keywords of that page is included in the description.
For example, let’s assume that your meta keywords are: “chiropractor in datville, massage therapy, datville acupuncture“. Of course there should NOT be spaces between your keywords.
Your description should look like this:
Example offers massage therapy and acupuncture in datville. Licensed chiropractor works with your schedule etc.
The above description basically contains the keywords and reason (works with your schedule) to click on the link.
B. Meta Keywords
Meta Keywords are a specific type of meta tag that appear in the HTML code of a Web page and help tell search engines what the topic of the page is. Knowing how to write a good meta description will help you write good meta keywords and vice versa.
When writing meta keywords, make sure that the words and phrases are relevant to the page.
Keep your keywords between 12-15 words and/or phrases. Make sure each keyword or phrase is separated by a comma and there are no spaces between them. Organize your meta keywords to reflect local or broad SEO depending what you need.
For example, let’s say we want to write a meta keyword for local SEO of a website that offers massage services in Nextville Toronto, with a zip code: 64122.
Our keywords will probably look like this:
massage in nextville, nextville massage, nextvill masseuse, 64122 massage, massage in 64122, masseuse in 64122, massage in toronto, toronto massage,masseuse in toronto,
